It’s no hidden fact that SMEs account for over 80% of employment in the country. This explains the importance of the success of these small businesses. Importantly,

However, some small business owners still find it difficult to scale their sales due to one reason or the other.

In this article, I have discussed 6 ways to increase your sales as a small business owner. Enjoy!

1. Stay Consistent

I know it’s not easy making efforts and not seeing results but it will be worth it in the end. Be strategic about your business. identify what works for you and do it. If you quit now, you may regret it because your marketing efforts are about to start yielding!

2. Appeal to emotion, don’t blackmail your clients

Some small business owners think the best way to sell their product or services is through emotional blackmail. How will you tell a potential client to buy from you because you have not eaten since last week?

Instead of making it feel like you are begging for alms, why not explain the benefit of buying from you? What can your product or service do to your clients? Show that you provide value for your clients and they will always return.

3. Update your copy

You have been using the same promotional words since you last restocked. How does that make you sound? When you stocked hoodies, you said it has the quality and provides warmth during cold winter. Now, you have t-shirts and you are still advertising with that. it shows you are not intentional about your business and no one buys from people like that.

4. Step up your product shoot game

Human beings are attracted to beautiful things. You want to collect money from someone and what you are selling is not visually appealing. It doesn’t work that way!

Look for fine picture materials such as carpet rugs, wallpapers, and others where you can place your wares or products for clear capturing. If you can afford it, hire a professional photographer to help you out. All these little things may feel like hard work, but trust me; they count in the long run. They will eventually be the difference between selling for #1000 and #3000.

5. Be open to collaborations

Collaboration is very important in all spheres of life. As a small business owner with a limited budget for marketing, collaborating with another brand will be a win-win for all. For example, Miss A is a model and needs to present herself well to her large following. She can collaborate with an equally inspiring photographer that can capture beautiful moments. Miss A gets the professional pictures and the photographer gets the audience of Miss A.

6. Avoid controversial issues

As a budding business, you don’ have any business with supporting sides during controversial situations. Focus on your business alone and engaging respectfully with client’s pages with decorum. In the process of taking sides, you might lose important clients and leverage that will cause your loss in the future.

These and many more are ways you can increase your sales in the new month. Business is dynamic and you need to stay consistent and innovatively create ways you can beat your competitor and gain market share.
