OME Green Gardens, a natural haven of enjoyment
Puff puff was ready, and Yusuf was already coming with sumptuous and smoky party jollof to the delight of the waiting Mohammed. Ajoke, with her plantain lover girlfriend was coming with another well fried and peppered ponmo and meat..Did I hear delectable?…….Yes, it is! What’s a picnic without eating to the brim?
Oh, What’s a #weekendbreak without #travelling and #exploring places?
How was your weekend?
As for me, I took time out to lead a group of people to a beautiful #tourism location in Kwara state.
OME Green Gardens is a stunning natural gardens that have a mini zoo, swimming pools, chalets, canoe ride and other exquisite features that stand it out as one of the best in the country.
The short journey to Ijagbo-Offa took a little more than an hour and the journey was filled with a lot of discussion as you would get in a group of people traveling to the same place, with largely the same goals.
Qazeem is busy discussing with Abdulsalam about the rancour and seemingly war going on in closeby Oyo state while others were talking about things peculiar to them.
Typical of Nigerian roads, there are lots of dramas going on; Police, customs and FRSC men on the same road within a minute drive comes to mind. Compare it to what’s happening in Oyo and you will get the irony.
We got to Ijagbo and everyone alighted happily with the hope of enjoying the vast, but beautiful OME green gardens.
We were welcomed with a monkey who looked like it’s been long it saw beautiful people. Well, you can’t blame the poor thing when you see the aura of Miss Zainab and the ever radiant Ajoke Onifaari along with other amazing young ladies out there.
As one of the organizers, I was in charge of networking and games. I took the fun lovers on a networking, question and answer sessions, before anchoring the charade game sessions where people had fund and expressed themselves.
While writing the #socialmedia content for the tour, I specifically made it clear fun will be unlimited, and I am glad everyone that travelled with us had fun and smiled home.
Sometimes, it is not only enough to work, you need to relax to maintain a productive #lifestyle and that is what we do at #TimeTravelers.
OME Green Gardens still remain an hidden gem in Kwara state, just like several other #touristattractions in the state.
I engaged with the handlers of the place and a major fact I held on to is that they are afraid of taking the promotion of the place to new heights because they fear the government might cripple them through enormous tax. Even though I had reservations about that, I can’t but accept Government needs to do much to help the tourism industry realise its vast potentials.
Hopefully, things will change soon in the #tourism industry.
